SetterFlo is a service built for one job: we train an AI setter on your own DM conversations and run it on your Instagram inbox, qualifying leads and getting them booked onto sales calls.
If you want flexibility, lots of channels and a low monthly cost, and you're happy to build and maintain it, ManyChat is the stronger choice. If you're a high-ticket coach who wants qualified calls from Instagram without building anything, SetterFlo is.

The real difference: a tool or a service
ManyChat gives you the building blocks. You decide the triggers, write the flows and, on paid plans, teach its AI about your business in a text box. That's powerful if you enjoy building, and it's why ManyChat works for everyone from e-commerce shops to creators with lead magnets.
SetterFlo is narrower on purpose. It exists to turn Instagram DMs into qualified sales calls for high-ticket coaches. We train it on how you actually talk to leads, set the qualification rules with you, and it runs from day one. You review conversations and can take any of them over, but you don't build or maintain flows.
How ManyChat's price grows with your audience
ManyChat charges by the number of people you message each month. Pro is $39 a month for 2,500 of them, then $0.05 for each extra person. So if a reel brings 5,000 people into your DMs in a month, that month costs $39 plus 2,500 × $0.05, which is $164. On Essential ($17) the extra charge is $0.10 a person, and Essential has no AI.
The bill goes up exactly when your content works. SetterFlo's price is flat: $297 a month after the first three months, which are included in the $997 setup.
When ManyChat is the better choice
- You sell on WhatsApp, TikTok, Messenger or SMS as well as Instagram.
- You want to broadcast to your audience or run e-commerce and lead-magnet automations.
- Your budget is under $100 a month and you're happy to build it yourself.
- You want to message new followers the moment they follow, and Meta has given your account Follow to DM.
When SetterFlo is the better choice
- You sell high-ticket coaching on sales calls and Instagram DMs are your main source of leads.
- You don't want to build or maintain flows, or write prompts.
- You want every lead qualified against your ideal client before they reach your calendar.
- You sell in Spanish as well as English.
Can I use both?
Plenty of coaches start with ManyChat for comment-to-DM lead magnets. SetterFlo handles comment-to-DM too, so most switch the Instagram side over entirely rather than run two tools on one inbox. If you keep ManyChat for other channels, that's fine.

Does ManyChat have AI?
Yes. ManyChat AI can reply to DMs and comments and follow a goal you set, on its paid Pro plan and above. ManyChat notes on its own help pages that its AI features are in beta and not fully deterministic. You set the AI up yourself.
Is SetterFlo more expensive than ManyChat?
Yes, at the entry level. ManyChat has a free plan and paid plans from $17 a month. SetterFlo is $997 including the first three months, then $297 a month. The difference is what you're buying: ManyChat is software you set up, SetterFlo is a setter built, trained and run for you.
Can SetterFlo message people when they follow me?
No. Meta doesn't offer a new-follower trigger through its general API. ManyChat has it as a beta that Meta runs, controls and limits to one message per person per week. Most people who follow also comment or reply to a story, and SetterFlo messages them as soon as they do.
Is either one safe for my Instagram account?
Both use Meta's official API. Neither asks for your Instagram password.
