AI appointment setters for Instagram DMs: the options compared

If you're a coach who hires closers or sells on calls yourself, there are three kinds of tool that can answer your Instagram DMs for you. Some are built and trained for you. Some you set up yourself. And some pair AI with a human sales rep who works your inbox. Which fits depends on how much of the setup you want to own, which channels you sell on and what you want to spend.
Below are twelve options, with prices and features taken from each company's own website. Prices in this market change often, so check before you buy.

How to choose
- You want it built and run for you: SetterFlo, Setty, Skalex or Ninjo's managed service. DMSetter if you also want a human rep in your inbox every day.
- You're happy to set it up yourself and want the lowest starting price: SetSmart, Setea or ManyChat, or Appointwise if you already run on GoHighLevel.
- You already have a team of human setters and want to make them faster: Mochi is built for that.
- You sell on WhatsApp or Messenger as well as Instagram: SetSmart, Skalex, Intellicoach, Appointwise or ManyChat. SetterFlo is Instagram only.
- You sell in Spanish: SetterFlo replies in English and Spanish, and Appointwise says it supports Spanish. Setea, Skalex, Ninjo and ZeroChats market themselves in Spanish, though none of them says which languages its AI replies in.
- You want public pricing before a sales call: SetterFlo, SetSmart, Mochi, Intellicoach, Appointwise, ManyChat, Skalex, Setea and Ninjo's self-serve plan publish theirs. Setty, DMSetter, ZeroChats and Ninjo's managed service don't.
SetterFlo
A done-for-you AI setter for high-ticket coaches on Instagram. We train it on at least 20 of your real DM conversations. It then replies in your voice, reads each lead's public profile, qualifies them against your ideal client, handles objections, sends your booking link when they're ready and follows up. Once someone books, it knows the call time and link and sends reminders.
It hands the conversation back to you when it shouldn't be the one answering, for example when a lead mentions a health condition, and you can take over any conversation yourself. It runs on Meta's official Instagram API, works in English and Spanish, and goes live about seven days after you pay. The price is public: $997 setup, which includes the first three months, then $297 a month, locked for pilot partners. There are 10 pilot places and 6 are left.
SetSmart
The most visible self-serve AI setter for coaches. You set it up yourself (its site says 15 to 30 minutes), and it replies on Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger and books calls inside the chat through Calendly, Cal.com, GoHighLevel or iClosed.
It's priced by AI message volume: $25 a month for 250 messages (no free trial), $97 for 1,000, $297 for 4,000 or $797 for 15,000, with automatic top-ups on the higher plans. A one-off done-for-you onboarding is sold separately for €790. A good choice if you want WhatsApp and Messenger too, or want to start small.
Watch out for: you pay per AI message. On Pro and above, running out adds another 1,000 messages automatically at $100 (Pro) or $70 (Scale), so a coach sending 3,000 AI messages a month on Pro pays $97 plus two top-ups, $297. The $25 plan stops dead at 250 messages, and unless you pay the €790 onboarding, the setup and the prompts are yours to get right.
Mochi
An Instagram DM workspace for sales teams that already have setters. Its AI assists your setters, clones your voice on the two higher plans, and on the top plan can reply on its own. It sends Calendly links rather than booking calls itself. Plans are $149, $297 or $497 a month (25% less paid yearly), capped by active conversations, with a 7-day free trial. Its site doesn't mention Spanish. Worth a look if you have a setter team and want to make them faster rather than replace them.
Watch out for: the fully automatic AI setter is only on the $497 Pro plan; on the cheaper plans the AI assists your setters rather than replying on its own. Every plan is capped by active conversations, it sends a Calendly link rather than booking the call, and its terms say subscription fees are non-refundable except where the law requires.
Intellicoach
A self-serve AI setter for online coaches, most of them in fitness, on Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. Pricing mixes a monthly fee with booked calls: $497, $997 or $1,497 a month including 20, 45 or 80 booked calls, then $40 for each extra call. It's free until it books 3 calls or for 30 days (a card is required), with no setup fee. It says it is a Meta Tech Provider. Its site doesn't mention Spanish.
Watch out for: every booked call beyond your plan's allowance costs $40, so a good month costs more. The free period needs a card, and it's built mainly around fitness coaches.
Appointwise
An AI setter that runs inside GoHighLevel, the only CRM it supports, across SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. It books into your calendar during the conversation and says it supports Spanish. It's $97 a month for one business or $297 for agencies, on top of a GoHighLevel subscription, with a 14-day trial; done-for-you setup comes only with the custom-priced Enterprise plan. A natural fit if you already run your business on GoHighLevel.
Watch out for: it only works with GoHighLevel, so the GoHighLevel subscription comes on top of the Appointwise price, and a done-for-you setup is only on the custom-priced Enterprise plan.
Setty
The closest model to SetterFlo: done for you, aimed at high-ticket coaches and consultants, focused on Instagram and run by a UK company. It doesn't publish prices, so you book a demo to get one. It offers a guarantee of 50% more calls than your current setters or you don't pay (its wording). Its site describes sending leads a pre-filled Calendly link and doesn't mention Spanish.
Watch out for: there's no price anywhere on its site. You only find out what it costs on a demo call.
ManyChat
The best-known Instagram automation platform. You build keyword and comment flows yourself, and AI replies are available on its paid Pro plan and above. It covers far more channels than any setter here and has a free plan, with paid plans from $17 a month ($14 billed annually), priced by the number of people you message.
It's also the only tool on this list with Instagram's Follow to DM trigger, a beta that Meta runs and controls. It isn't built specifically for appointment setting, and its pricing page lists no calendar booking of its own.
Watch out for: it's priced by the number of people you message. Pro is $39 a month for 2,500 contacts, then $0.05 for each extra one, so a reel that brings in 5,000 people in a month costs $164. AI replies need Pro or above, you build and maintain the flows yourself, and its own help pages say its AI is in beta and "not fully deterministic".
DMSetter
Not software but a managed service: an AI and an experienced human sales rep work your inbox together, through your ManyChat account. It quotes a flat monthly fee on a call rather than publishing a price, and takes clients with at least 20 new DM leads a day and $20k a month in revenue. If you want a person in the loop every day, this is that model.
Watch out for: no published price, and it only takes clients with at least 20 new DM leads a day and $20k a month in revenue.
Skalex
A Spanish AI setter that its team builds for you after a one-hour briefing, live in seven days. It covers WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, sends and transcribes voice notes, and costs €497 a month with no lock-in and a 30-day money-back guarantee. It doesn't say whether there's a setup fee.
Watch out for: its "prueba gratis" is a demo chat with Skalex's own setter, not a trial on your account.
Setea
A self-serve Spanish AI setter for Instagram and WhatsApp that books through Calendly or its own Google Meet calendar, and follows up on WhatsApp to cut no-shows. Its homepage shows €199 a month as a launch price, then €349. By its own FAQ, it never discusses price or closes the sale.
Watch out for: €199 is a launch price that rises to €349, and its AI never talks about price or closes.
Ninjo
Two products under one name. ninjo-setter.ai is a done-for-you service for high-ticket coaches, with no published price. ninjo.ai is a self-serve agent platform at $149 a month plus $0.035 per message sent, covering Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok and more.
Watch out for: on the self-serve plan every message sent costs $0.035 on top of the $149, and the done-for-you service has no published price.
ZeroChats
Spanish-language AI setter software for Instagram and WhatsApp. You configure the AI yourself, with setup help from its team on the main plan. Prices aren't published: you book a call or sign up.
Watch out for: no published price, and the AI's instructions are yours to write and tune, with setup help on the main plan.

What is an AI appointment setter?
Software that answers the DMs your content brings in, works out whether each person is a fit, handles their objections and gets the good ones booked onto a sales call, so you or your closer only talk to qualified leads.
Which AI appointment setter is cheapest?
On published prices, ManyChat (free plan, paid from $17 a month) and SetSmart (from $25 a month) are the cheapest to start, but both are self-serve and priced by usage. Done-for-you options cost more because someone builds and trains the setter for you: SetterFlo is $997 including the first three months, then $297 a month, and Skalex is €497 a month. Setty, DMSetter, ZeroChats and Ninjo's managed service don't publish prices.
Is an AI setter safe for my Instagram account?
Every tool on this list says it uses Meta's official API rather than logging in as you. Avoid any tool that asks for your Instagram password: that's against Meta's terms and a common way to get an account restricted.
Can an AI setter message new followers automatically?
Only ManyChat can, through Follow to DM, a beta that Meta runs. Meta decides which accounts get it, it fires once per follower, and Meta allows one such message per person per week. There's no general API for it, so no other tool here can do it through the official route.
What's the best AI setter for Spanish-speaking coaches?
SetterFlo replies in Spanish and English, and is built by a team with a base in Madrid. Appointwise also says it supports Spanish. Setea, Skalex, Ninjo and ZeroChats sell in Spanish, but none of them says which languages its AI replies in, so ask before you buy.
Is there a done-for-you AI appointment setter?
Yes. SetterFlo, Setty, Skalex and Ninjo's managed service build and train the setter for you. SetSmart and Appointwise sell a done-for-you setup as an extra or on their Enterprise plan. Of the tools built for you from the start, SetterFlo and Skalex are the only ones that publish a price.
